More Details Emerge About The New Korean Air Tower

Construction is set to begin on the new 70-story Korean Air Tower at Wilshire Boulevard and Figueroa Street and we’re now getting more details about the $1 billion luxury hotel and office building. The design has gone through a number of revisions and initially was going to be separate towers for office and hotel space but now it looks like the developer is close to finalizing a design which will combine the two in a single tower.

The property will feature ground floor retail followed by 20 stories of office space and the remaining 50 or so floors will include 900 hotel rooms at a four star level. One interesting detail is that the building’s lobby will be on the 70th floor as opposed to traditional hotels where the lobby is on the ground floor. The hotel will feature many of the traditional amenities including a bar, restaurant and infinity pool (hopefully on the roof).

When the building is completed it will be the second tallest building in southern California (the tallest being the US Bank Tower) and is expected to open in 2017.
